Deckhand

Sailing Saugatuck is looking for reliable and customer-focused individuals to join our team as Deckhands for the upcoming sailing season. You'll be an essential part of providing memorable experiences for our guests on Lake Michigan. While we foster a casual atmosphere, punctuality and a strong commitment to guest satisfaction are paramount. This is a full-time, on-site position where you'll work directly with our captains and crew.

• Assist passengers in boarding and disembarking the vessel.

• Help maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the deck and common areas.

• Support the captain and crew with sailing operations, including sail handling and line management.

• Respond to guest inquiries and provide information about the cruise and local area.

• Ensure passenger safety and follow all safety protocols during the cruise.

• Participate in pre- and post-cruise checks and preparations.

• Demonstrated reliability and punctuality.
• A strong commitment to providing excellent customer service.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
• Comfortable working on a boat and on the water.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Previous experience working in a customer-facing role.
• Familiarity with sailing or maritime operations.
• Basic knowledge of safety procedures on vessels.
• Experience in the tourism or hospitality industry.
